In each issue of the Yale Alumni Magazine, Fred R. Shapiro, Professor of Law and Editor of The Yale Book Of Quotations, examines famous words in his column You Can Quote Them. In an effort to educate, illuminate and debunk, he seeks out the quotations' origins, and investigates their links to the proverbial Yale family tree.

With found or created imagery and a rich typographic vernacular, Stack has created an ongoing series of photographic illustrations that contextualize these linguistic journeys.
